Connectivity in the AEC Industry

Join us for our first Solutions Experience national tour! It’s time we get back together and talk about technology in the construction industry, business efficiencies and goals, and how the TSS portfolio of solutions can align with your companies’ initiatives.

Connectivity is this year’s theme, and we simply cannot talk about technology, business strategies, and goals without recognizing the rapid evolution and benefits of the connectivity in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction industries. Examples of this can be seen through advanced workflows and products using smart machinery, automated robotics, software, and hardware seamlessly talking and moving data across manufactures.

Event Agenda

From the co-worker in the next cubicle over to the complexity of a multi-stakeholder collaborative project, CONNECTION and clear communications throughout a project are the keys to success.

Spanning 2-days, this year’s complimentary ‘Solutions Experience’ will take the unique approach of evaluating and applying the many concepts associated with connectivity throughout a complete project lifecycle. Although each interrelated session builds upon the previous, each class topic stands alone and can be taken independently. So, join us from beginning to end, or pick and choose sessions that meet your exact educational needs – you decide. Each day will include lunch and Tech Happy hour, a fun and casual way to speak 1:1 with the TSS experts.

Keynote Speaker: Mark Contino

Hear from Topcon’s Vice President of North American Retail Distribution who has successfully led Topcon Solutions through a corporate consolidation, global pandemic, supply chain challenges in a technology evolving industry while managing stakeholder expectations and never far from the “boots on the ground” business. A dynamic and inspiring speaker, Mark will be joined by Moderator, Kevin Closson, Software Professional Services Manager for a candid conversation around what the advantages to Connectivity in the AEC industry is.

+ 10AM – Point of Beginning: Compiling Existing Conditions

We all know that the start of any project relies on accurate existing conditions data. Work with our Survey/Civil experts to learn how to import and use survey data to create a working model for civil and site design for construction projects.

+ 11AM – Breaking through the Cloud: Collaborate, Coordinate & Design

It is no secret that change is difficult and a culture based on innovation and efficiency is critical for success within our industry. Join us to discuss how designers collaborate with Civil 3D on the Autodesk Construction Cloud. This talk will give an overview of terminology and best practices for moving a firm to the cloud for Civil design. Additionally, we will use one of the new Civil 3D features, Grading Optimization, to create the final surface design.

+ 1PM – High Water: A handy Man’s Guide to hydraulic modelling with Innovyze Solutions

With Autodesk’s acquisition of Innovyze last spring, it opened the door for dynamic hydraulic modelling within Civil 3D (paired with InfoDrainage). Join us to define structures quickly and effectively making the best use of space. Integrate with Civil 3D to quickly adopt design iterations. Visualize and export design data to a variety of stakeholders streamlining the approval process.

+ 2PM – Build It & They Will Come: Preparing Civil 3D Models for the Field

Not all models are created equal! Our office-to-field team will use this session to review processes and various techniques for readying your design files for use in the field. Whether exporting for site verification or upload to heavy equipment automation, our team will show you the way.
